Our products and customers have also undergone considerable changes since our establishment 75 years ago as a small service and installation company for refrigeration systems. In 1950, a joinery for wooden refrigerated cabinets with stainless steel covers was established at the Linz site. In the years that followed, HAUSER manufactured individual refrigeration units out of timber, sheet metal, cork insulation and stainless steel covers (some of which are still in operation today). The company demonstrated its innovative spirit early on with the ceiling cooling system patented by engineer Rudolf Hauser. Starting in 1965, HAUSER gradually switched to metal refrigeration units (which are easier to clean and more hygienic). Our customer base increasingly shifted from individual refrigerated cabinets in the catering and meat sectors to food retailers, where there was a growing demand for refrigerated cabinets and refrigeration equipment. HAUSER placed its focus on freshness and design and became the first Austrian manufacturer to mass-produce metal refrigerated cabinets at its production site in St. Martin.
